After many delays and much anticipation Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End is finally here. Uncharted 4 is the 4th and final installment in the Uncharted franchise. Uncharted 4 is a PS4 exclusive and it is from developer Naughty Dog. Uncharted 4 is a third person action/adventure game with third person shooter elements mixed into the game. The game begins with our hero Nathan Drake who after the events of the first 3 games has settled down with his wife Elena and has left behind the life of a treasure hunter behind. But when his long lost brother Sam appears, Nathan must come out of retirement to help his brother find the pirate Henry Avery’s lost treasure.
The game in general looks gorgeous is easily the best looking game on the ps4 with many jaw dropping environments. The levels are huge and have plenty of room for exploration and the levels in general are breathtaking. The game also features some top notch sound design. From the sweeping orchestral music to the stellar sound mixing this game sounds like a big hollywood blockbuster. The game also features an excellent voice cast, we have Nolan North voicing Nathan Drake, Emily Rose voicing Elena Fisher, Richard Mcgonagle voicing Victor Sullivan, and newcomer Troy Baker voicing Sam Drake. All do a spectacular job voicing their characters and it really makes this game feel like a Hollywood blockbuster. The gameplay is phenomenal it features great third person shooting mechanics which feel really tight and and make aiming at the bad guys really good. The game also has nice variety of weapons all which feel different and are a blast to play with. From your standard pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles, to rocket launchers and grenade launchers all the weapons will add plenty of depth to the gameplay. The game also has a multiplayer mode, but it’s best to skip it as it feels very tacked on.
Overall I feel the game is very satisfying conclusion to the series and while I do feel the pacing is a bit slow in the beginning but I still feel this game is a must have for the ps4.
I give Uncharted 4 a 5 out of 5.
