Loonatics Unleashed – Review

Hello, my name is Charles and I’m here to review a cartoon show called Loonatics Unleashed.

This show has a total of 26 episodes (13 per season) and was broadcast on Kids’ WB from September 17, 2005 to May 5, 2007.

This series takes place on the City-Planet of Acmetropolis, as well as on Planet Freleng and Planet Blanc in the year 2772. Planet Freleng is named after Friz Freleng, who created many of the Looney Tunes characters, and Planet Blanc is named after Mel Blanc, who voice-acted many of the Looney Tunes characters.

The protagonists of this series are a Super-Powered Superhero team called The Loonatics that consists of:

  • Ace Bunny (Bugs Bunny’s Descendant)(Powers & Abilities: Laser Vision/Adept martial-Arts Skills/A Magical Blade called the Guardian Strike Sword),
  • Lexi Bunny (Lola Bunny’s Descendant)(Powers & Abilities: Sonic Hearing/Adept Acrobatic Agility/Brain Blast-the ability to shoot concentrated psychic energy from the top of her head),
  • Danger Duck (Daffy Duck’s Descendant)(Powers & Abilities: Power Orb Randomizer-tosses powerful flaming egg-shaped spheres of energy/Quantum Quack-The ability to teleport short distances),
  • Slam Tasmanian (The Tasmanian Devil’s Descendant)(Powers & Abilities: Superhuman Strength/Tornado Maximizer-the ability to spin into a tornado form as well as fire tornado blasts from his hands/Thunder Mode-the ability to launch small “electric” tornadoes from his arms),
  • Tech E. Coyote (Wile E. Coyote’s Descendant)(Powers & Abilities: Superhuman Intelligence/Magnetism Manipulation/Molecular Regeneration), and
  • Rev Runner (Road Runner’s Descendant)(Powers & Abilities: Flight/Sonic Speed/Global Positioning-a form of Clairvoyance).

Other Looney Tunes-inspired characters in this series are:

  • Mr. Leghorn (a human based on Foghorn Leghorn),
  • Pierre le Pew (a human based on Pepe le Pew),
  • Ophiuchus Sam (Yosemite Sam’s Descendant),
  • Gorlop (Gossamer’s Descendant),
  • Royal Tweetums (Tweety’s Royal Descendant),
  • Sylth Vester (Sylvester the Cat’s Descendant),
  • Queen’s Grannicus (Granny’s Royal Descendant),
  • Electro J. Fudd (Elmer Fudd’s Descendant),
  • Melvin the Martian (Marvin the Martian’s Descendant),
  • Pinkster Pig (Porky Pig’s Descendant), and
  • Stoney & Bugsy (Rocky & Mugsy’s Descendants).

In conclusion, I found this series to be quite interesting as I felt it was Kids WB’s Road Rovers version of Looney Tunes. I liked this series because I found its story line to be more unpredictable than the ones in its Looney Tunes counterpart.
