Pixar Soul Review by Sonja

Pixar's Soul to Debut on Disney+ This Christmas!

I recently watched Soul the newest Pixar movie on Disney Plus. It was such a good movie the story centers around a man named joe who wants to be a jazz musician but is a music teacher. Through the movie he learns his life was full of happy moments and to not take life for granted and enjoy every moment of it at the end. The animation is beautiful as always from Pixar and the voice acting is top notch with the talents of Jamie Fox, and Tina Frey. The jazz music is amazing! It sounds like you’re really there listening to these great musicians. For anyone whose is a fan of Jazz and Pixar I suggest watching it.

The Aristocats Movie Review by Jaime B

The Aristocats is my favorite Disney movie in the whole wide world, because I love Marie so much as my favorite character in the movie. The Aristocats was released on December 24th, 1970, and it was created by Walt Disney Productions 50 years ago.

“Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat” (from the Aristocats) is one of my favorite Disney songs in the whole wide world. The new soundtrack of the Aristocats was released on August 21st, 2015 as part of Walt Disney Records: The Legacy Collection.

The Aristocats take place in Paris, France in 1910. Duchess is the mother of Berlioz, Marie, and Toulouse that lives with retired opera diva Madame Adelaide and her English butler Edgar. Edgar is the villain in the Aristocats movie. Duchess is now married to Thomas O’Malley after Madame Adelaide adopts O’Malley.

Movie Review: Ever After by Sonja

I recently watched an older Cinderella movie called Ever After starring Drew Barrymore, and Dougray Scott. It’s a romance story about a young woman who had a father who passed away leaving her with her stepmom and two step sisters. As the years went by they showed their true colors and treated her with disrespect except for the younger step sister she treats pretty well. One day Danielle (Cinderella) is out in the forest picking apples and she sees someone stealing her fathers horse. She hits him with an apple and he falls off and is revealed to be the prince of France. She falls to the ground asking for his forgiveness. Danielle meets the prince again in the square when she was trying pay the debt one of her servants could not pay off. The prince helps her free the man and their romance began. The movie is so charming with a fresh take on a classic fairy tale. I love the chemistry between the main leads and it shows how much they respect each other in a matter of days. It is one of my favorite movies and I love a good romance story. It makes me happy.

Movie Review: Moana

Dwayne Johnson's Moana-Obsessed Daughter Is Still Unaware Of One ...

The movie Moana is about a girl who will become leader of her island but because of this lava monster called Te Ka her island will be destroyed. The ocean chooses her to help stop the monster by finding Dwayne Johnson I mean Maui, who will help her defeat Te Ka with the heart of the goddess Te Fiti which Maui stole and which had started this whole mess in the first place. Maui and Moana go on the adventure and both help each other in big ways. Maui teachers her how to sail while she helps him conquer his inner demons and helps save him from a monster named Tamatoa and then she helps him learn how to use the power of his magic hook that can turn him into any animal. However when they fight Te Ka they have a dispute, he leaves and Moana feels like she isn’t the one to help defeat Te Ka, but later gets the confidence again and Maui helps again and she learns Te Ka is Te Fiti and defeats her by giving her her heart again and then happy ever after.

I was surprised by the movie. I liked it more than I thought, the music was half and half for me. I liked the villain song and You’re Welcome song but the ones Moana sang were a bit corny to me. I also like the design of Maui and Moana, both different in terms of other Disney characters. Moana has muscles and not a very tiny waist. And Maui has muscles but not typical muscles you think of. Gaston and Hercules’ muscles look like muscle you usually think of but Maui almost kinda looks fat. So all in all I like the movie for the most part.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Movie Review {Spoiler Review}

Image result for star wars rise of skywalker poster

This review will be a few spoilers, if you haven’t seen the film…don’t read…if you saw the movie…you’re welcome to read the review. I know there’s a lot of mixed opinions about the movie, I respect everyone’s opinions.

My thoughts and reaction: I enjoyed Star Wars: Episode IX -The Rise of Skywalker, the final episode of the Skywalker saga. I was expecting a bit of detail of the Emperor’s return…they didn’t explain much…but I find it interesting is the Emperor stays attached to a large machine.

One twist that I did not expect is that Rey is Emperor Palpatine’s granddaughter…a lot of surprises.

The visual effects looked cool, great music by John Williams and more. Leia Organa played by Carrie Fisher who passed away on December 27, 2016…the film used unused footage of Fisher  from The Force Awakens.

Billy Dee Williams coming back as Lando Calrissian was great, it was cool to see Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford as Luke Skywalker and Han Solo

I enjoyed the Sequel trilogy…in my opinion my favorite Star Wars trilogies is the original and prequel

The cast and crew did a great job in the film

I give this movie a B

The Peanut Butter Falcon movie review by Sydney

A truly inspiring story , THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON is the story of Zak, a young man with Down syndrome, who runs away from a residential nursing home to achieve his dream of being a student at the professional wrestling school of his idol, The Salt Water Redneck. A unique turn of events pairs him on the road with Tyler, a small time outlaw on the run, who becomes Zak’s unlikely coach and ally. Together they embark on a wild adventure together and cross paths with Eleanor, a worker at the nursing home, who was charged with finding Zak and bringing him back there. But no one had ever asked Zak what he wanted to do, so he threw the car keys into the river and she was forced to go with them on a homemade raft down the river. Their journey was certainly wild. In my opinion, the movie should be 100 stars because it was a perfect example of the struggles some people face every day. One of the things that was so amazing about the movie was the fact that one of the actors had Down Syndrome, which made the movie even more fascinating.Image result for peanut butter falcon

I think there should be more opportunities in the movie,t.v. and music industries for people with challenges.  The movie offered a unique insight into the world of people with special challenges. There are many different kinds of people who don’t often get a chance to really be heard. If only people would stop being prejudiced and really listen, the world would be a better place.
