Spider-Man Review

After several crappy games, Spider-Man is back and given a new lease on life thanks to developer Insomniac games. The game takes a different turn with the story than most Spider- Man games have in the past. This time around Peter Parker is an adult in his early 20s and works as a lab assistant for Doctor Otto Octavius. Shortly after defeating classic Spidey villain The Kingpin a new villain appears named Mr. Negative. Now Spider-man must stop him and bunch of other villains from wreaking havoc on the city.

The game’s story also ditches Spider-Man’s classic origin story and decides to tell a new story outright. Spider-Man is an open world giving you the entire city of New York to play around in. Like most open world games, there are tons of side activities to keep you distracted from completing the main story. The activities vary from finding backpacks throughout the city, taking over enemy bases, to even taking pictures of famous landmarks throughout the city. There are also random crimes throughout the city that you can stop to earn not only experience but crime tokens as well. There are also research stations in the game that have you do research on various things like throwing toxic barrels out of the ocean and rerouting satellite signals. There are also side missions in the game that are also a lot of fun as well. Web slinging does take a little getting used to but it is satisfying and web swinging throughout the city is a blast and very relaxing at the same time.  You can also web zip to make travel through the city faster as well.

Combat is also very satisfying. While you do have your punches and kicks that you throw at your enemies, you can also use your web slinging abilities as well webbing enemies up and using web swinging kicks on them. You also have a focus meter that when full you can either heal yourself or perform a finisher on an enemy. All the side missions that you do in the game give you different tokens that you can use to unlock different gadgets and different costumes in the game. You can also use the various tokens to upgrade your gadgets as well. There are several points in the game where you will play as Mary-Jane Watson and Miles Morales. While you only play as them a few times in the game they still are pretty fun to play. Their missions are mostly stealth missions with you sneaking past guards to get to a certain objective. There are also science puzzles that you solve throughout the game as well. These range from matching up DNA strands to rewiring circuits, while you are required to do them during the main story you can skip if you are stuck or you just don’t feel like doing them outright. Another side activity that you can do in the game is stopping random crimes throughout the city. They range from stopping a bank robbery, to stopping a car jacking, to stopping a kidnapping. All the random crimes in the game happen throughout different parts of New York. There are also stealth portions in the game where you can sneak up on enemies the traditional way and use your gadgets to take out enemies stealthily,  but you can also use stuff in the environment to take out enemies as well.

While as great as this game is there is really only one problem with it and that is that the game can be glitchy at times. For example, when I was playing the game I clipped through a police station and was unable to get out. The game also crashed on me a few times. Aside from that I thought the game was great and I had a lot of fun playing. Spider-man is exclusive to PS4 and is rated T for Teen. My final score for Spider Man is a 5 out of 5.

Marvel’s Spider-Man(Preview)

Hello, my name is Charles & I’m here to preview the upcoming PlayStation 4 game Marvel’s Spider-Man. This game’s storyline is a unique one that is not tied to any existing Comic Book, Video Game, or Movie Film.

The main hero in this game is Peter Parker/Spider-Man (23 Years Old)(Suits: Standard, Spider-Noir (Black & White film scenarios), Spider-Punk, Spider-Venom (Alien Symbiote), HomeMade (Spider-Man: HomeComing) and the Iron-Spider (Avengers: Infinity War).

The antagonists in this game are Wilson Fisk/the Kingpin (New York’s Crime Boss), Herman Schultz/Shocker (Weapons: Twin Vibro-Shock Gauntlets), Tony Masters/TaskMaster (Powers: the ability to Memorize/Replicate/Duplicate the Abilities/Weaponry of his enemies such as Captain America’s Shield and Hawkeye’s Bow & Arrows), Norman Osborne/Green Goblin, Martin Li/Mister Negative and the Inner Demons (a syndicate run by Mister Negative himself).

The supporting cast of characters are Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, Miles Morales, May Parker (Peter Parker’s Aunt) and Mary Jane Watson.

In conclusion, I believe this Spider-Man game is without a doubt the grand sum of all the Web-Slingers’ heroic actions throughout the years. “long live Stan Lee’s Friendly, Neighborhood Spider-Man.”

Spider-Man

Spider-man has been my favorite superhero since I was 11 years old.

He appeared as a comic book character in 1962 created by Stan Lee, the creator of the Avengers like Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, the Mighty Thor, and Captain America. Even the X-Men.

Spider-man started out as a normal nerdy high school teenager named Peter Parker. He lived with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben growing up in Queens, after his parents died in a plane crash.

He had a difficult life fitting into high school, dealing with bullies like Flash Thompson and Peter’s family never had much money.

One day his life changes forever, he and the other students are on a field trip to a science lab for tech research. Once there, a spider that got exposed to gamma radiation came down and bites Peter.

At first he thought he was dying, but instead it gives him spider powers that make him a different person.

When he starts using his powers, he couldn’t handle it at all, he was selfish with it. He was reckless at the time.

Peter realizes that the spider that bit him was radioactive.

He developed web shooters that shoot out of his wrist to catch objects.

His Uncle Ben then teaches him lessons about responsibilities and tough choices by figuring things out and getting advice from a person or suggestions. Even inspiration. Uncle Ben told his nephew he was different from the world.

While he was looking through his magazine, Peter thought he could get money by using his powers. He read that anyone who stays and beats the wrestler in 3 minutes wins. He made a homemade costume and a mask to hide his face to go into the ring.

He won against the brute wrestler, but he got just a bit of the money. He was upset about it, he just wanted to have fame. He didn’t even bother stopping a burglar that robbed the fight promoter’s office. The police officers didn’t catch him on time.

They asked Peter why they let him go, he said “It’s not my problem. It’s yours.”

When he got back home and saw police cars surrounding his house. He learned that his uncle was shot and killed by a burglar who broke into his house.

Driven by vengeance, Peter decides take down the burglar by switching his old homemade costume to a new fancy costume. He traps him in the warehouse and beats him.

When he looked at his face, he realizes that the burglar was the same man who robbed the fight promoter’s office and killed his Uncle Ben. Peter restrains him in webs and the police took him away after.

Feeling guilty and responsible for letting a burglar loose and having his uncle dead, he finally learned what it means to be a man and decided to use those powers for good after hearing his uncle’s powerful words “With great power, comes great responsibility”.

And now the legend was born, Peter Parker took the name SPIDER-MAN.
